Bartlett Cram kNCOR:1 Bangor, the canter of Maine ---the Gateway to Maia: s North Woods and Seashore Reverse C4 of cBmtwr Abide September 4, 1968 TO: The Honorable City Council FROM: The Planning Board SUBJECT: Amending Chapter VIII, Article L0, Section 1 (6) of the Zoning Ordinance Gentlemen: Please be advised that the Planning Board met on August 36, 1968, to consider a request to amend Chapter VIIS Article 10, Section l by adding the following new subsection: Section I (6) Residential use, only upon approval of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and only when such residential use is provided for security purposes in connection with any uses set forth in subsections (1)-(5), above. The Board gave very serious consideration to the request. Io reaching their decision the Planning Board considered the following points: 1. The Board was sympathetic with the applicants request and the need fore a type of security. 3. The Bard was strongly opposed to any type of residential use in industrial park zones. 3. The Board also felt that the particular type of security system s proposed by the petitioners, that of husband and wife, would not adequately fill their needs and would not solve security problems in the other Industrial Park areas. The Planning Board voted unanimously to disapprove the proposed amendment. Respectfully ait ped, Carl J.
