RULES AND REGULATIONS (COnt'd)
14. In instances where city sewer service ists within a
public way abutting property served by private septic tank
or spool and where connection of said septic tank or
ceskpool into the city sewer is possible, the owner of said
property shall pay an "Ability to Serve" charge in the
amount of five dollars ($5.00) per quarter. The city may
require the discontinuance of the septic tank or cesspool
at such time that it shall be deemed a e by health
officials, r accordance with applicable sections of the
State of Maine Revised Statutes.
15. Any individual or firm engaged in the business of
cleaning septic tanks shall discharge the contents Of said
tanks at the Pollution Abatement Facility located on lower
Main Street, in the manner and at the location designated
by the Plant Superintendent. The hours of said disposal
shall be between 9:00 A. M. and 3:00 P. M. on Monday through
Friday except holidays. A charge of two dollars ($2.00)
per load will be made for all such disposals regardless of
quantity, to be billed to the person making said disposal.
