Introduced and filed by ....... Co u cil 014 PBX ATTENDANT NBFINITIM This involves the operation of a telephone switchboard and performing office functions of a routine, repetitive nature. Training relative to the c mmunicati one system will be given by the Telephone Company. Other duties can be learned readily by training on the job. Detailed instructions are given at the beginning of work and on sub- sequent assignments; however, after the employee becomes familiar with particular procedures, fie/she may work with independence on the more routine aspects of the work. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (My one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions of this class.) Operates a central telephone system. Acts as receptionist, refers telephone calla to proper departments and gives out routine information. Sorts and files index cards, forms, documents, or other materials numerically, alphabetically, or by other established classifications. Performa related work as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Skill in the operation of a central telephone communication system. Possesses a pleasing personality and voice. Ability to deal tactfully with the public. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Ability to understand and fell= oral and written instructions. Working knowledge of business English. Clerical aptitude and good general intelligence. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE ANO TRAINING Training as a PBX Attendant. Some experience in &Metal clerical work; and graduation from a standard high school.
