To the Chairmen and
Members of the City Council,
City of Bangor,
Bangor, Maine,
Gentlemen:
Due to the fact that I had made previous commit events
prior to the date set for the hearing regarding the house located on
Sunset Avenue, in Bangor, Maine, and owned by Mr. R. Main Grant,
I am unable to attend the hearing and, therefore, have asked that
this letter be read at the hearing,
I consider this house a great detriment to the neigh -
hothead for the fallowing reasons: -
1.
asons.1. I believe it to be a fire hazard as I understand the
house has been broken intoseveral times, and hes
been ransacked to a extent, andthat at one time
same am tried to start a fire in it.
2. It is a blight to the neighborhood, not only because
of the condition of it but the style of as house is
not in keeping with other houses on the street.
3. It is my understanding that the inside of the house has
deteriorated to quite an extent because of it being
moved and left on rollers for approximately flight to
nine months, without any heat in it, and with onend
of the house being left open to the weather for that
length of time.
4. I understand the City issued a permit to allow the
house to be moved, with the condition that it be placed
on a foundation within a six -months period, This has
not hasp done.
Being a property aw r It close proximity to this houme
I feel net action should be taken by the proper authorities of the
City of Bangor to see that this house is demolished as promptly a
possible as, in my estimation, It is dawn -grading other properties
in that locality.

SUBJECT: Building on Sweet Avenue
Regarding the building on Sunset Avenue, I have been unsuccessful in
getting the dwelling belonging to R. RaNcin Grant, which is located near the
end of Sonnet Avenue, secured orepaired. This duelling was moved from
Union Street and left at its present location and never put on a foundation.
All notices have been sent to Mr. Grant regarding this structure, add
I now recommend that this be referred to the City Council for action.
