D� Ne maa AUTONOTIVE PAINTER 549 DEFINITION This is skilled painting and body repair work Involving automotive and heavy equipment. Work involves ordinary body and fender repair and major overall painting, assigned an basis, and is inspected by a superior. The work involves judgment v the employee's part as to methods of repair and painting and maximum utili- zation of equipment. E%MRLES OF WORK PERFORMED (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions of this class.) Inspects, repairs, replaces necessary anary body and fender parte, rejuvenates rusted or damaged fenders and other related parts. Remaves or pounds out dents, uses body compound filler, files and sands. Uses spray gun equipment to prime and paint portions of vehicles and spray paints entiry vehicles including automobiles, trucks and other equipment. Is responsible for maintaining and keeping operational the shop area, tools, spray equipment and all other related items. Performs related work as required. REQUIRED giWLEDCES. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Considerable knowledge of acceptable standard practices, tools and equip- ment of the body and fender and automotive trade. Considerable knowledge of spray painting equipment and techniques. Will in selecting, mixing and working with automotive paints and compounds. Ability to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. DESSRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Experience as an automotive painter and some experience in body and fender repair, and the Camp lotion of the eighth school grade.
