Dr. Edward Porter, Chairman
Bangor City Council
City Mau
Bangor, Maine 04401
Dear Dr. Porter:
Due to the fact that I will no longer be a resident of
the City of Bangor, it is with regret that I submit to the
City Council my resignation from the Urban Renewal Authority.
I believe in the philosephy of urban renewal., although
the original concept has been lost, in many instances, that
through the program Bangor has already provided stimuli for
many businesses to improve themselves, as well as the City as
exemplified by new buildings and the development of the
Industrial Park.
I sincerely hope that the people of Bangor will be
patient with the progress of rebuilding downtown, and not
grab at the first offer but look Tor high quality development,
which IIn sure see and will come, given the opportunity.
g e past had years has certainly had many trestrations,
not only for this member, but for the people directly and
indirectly involved. I an confident that given the interest
and support of the community the potential can be realized.
As a parting statement, I can say that it would be most
gratifying to see a strong, continuing, interested active
involvenent of net more citizens in the activities in the
Urban Renewal Authority.
Sincerely, / -g
