Be itordained by flee City Counsel of City ofBamyar, a fidpmee: That the zone boundary linea
as established by the Zoning ordinance of the City of Bangor on January ], 1954, as
emended, be hereby further amended as follows:
To change from Residential "A" Zone to Local Business Zone a portion of land
adjacent to the existing Local Business Zone on the northerly corner of the inter-
action of Onion Street and Fourteenth Street, being more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point on the northeasterly aide line of Union Street, being 98
feet, more or less, from the intersection of the northeasterly side line of Union
Street with the northwesterly side line of Fourteenth Street' and further being the
intersection of the northwesterly line of the existing Local Business Zone and the
northeasterly side line of Union Street'
thence i northwesterly direction by and along the northeasterly side line
of Union Street fora distance of 49.5 feet, more or leas, to a point;
thence at a generally right angle northeasterly along the southeasterly line
of property presently or formerly owned by Martin F. and Elsie W. Campbell for a
distance of 115.5 feet, more or less, to a point being the east corner of said
Campbell property;
thence at a generally right angle southeasterly along the southwest lines of
properties presently or formerly owned by Louie Rirstein and Sona and Cornelius A. and
Lillian C. Jceckel for a distance of 147.5 feet, more
or Seas, to a point on the
orthWesterly aide line of Fourteenth Street being the south corner of said Joeckel
property;
thence at a generally right angle southwesterly along the northwesterly side
line of Fourteenth Street for a distance of 38.5 feet, more or Sens, to a point on the
northeasterly line of the existing Local Business Zone;
thence at a generally right angl<nortbxrestecly along the northeasterly line
of the existing Local Business Zone for adistance of 98 feet, more or leas, to a point
being the north corner of said Local Business Zone;
thence at a generally right angle southwesterly along the northwesterly line of
the existing Local Business Zone for a distance of 17 feet, more
r less, to a point on
the northeasterly side line of Union street being the point of beginning.
Thus intending to describe a portion of land owned by Merchants National Bank
of Bangor encompassing all of parcels 11 and 12A of City Assessor's Sheet Number CS -20.

RB: Amending Zoning Ordinance- Onion S 14th Streets
City Council Order No.259-x
Please be advised that the Planning Board held a Public Nearing on
August 31, 1970, to consider a request to change a parcel of land at Union
and Fourteenth Street from Residential "A" zone to a Local Business cone.
The Board gave careful consideration to the request and Meexisting
planning problems of the
r
e The Board felt that the proposed change would
help eliminate a ome of the traffic congestion and would allow exit and egress
a safer distance from the intersection.
The Board voted unanimously to approve the requested change.
