Bangor, Maine 04401
Dear Mr. Frawley:
At the suggestion of Robert Miller, Esq., I an writing
to you to request that a portion of Cumberland Street
which has not been used by the public for a substantial
period of time be officially discontinued.
The portion of Cumberland Street in question is located
on the easterly side of Parkview Avenue (formerly called
Date Street) and rune easterly from Parkview Avenue for
a distance of 100 feet, more or less. It adjoins the
northerly side of Lot IS in Jefferson Row, as shown o
the plan of City Common made by C. G. Bryant and recorded
in Penobscot Registry of Deeds, Plan Book 5, page 12. It
is our understanding that the land over
which Cumberland
Street is supposed to run is now taxed to the purported
owners, though the right of way has not been discontinued.
I£ I can provide any more information about the property
n question, I will be pleased to do so. If the City
Council acts favorably on our request that the part of
Cumberland Street in question be discontinued, we would
appreciate being notified Of the action.
Very truly yours,
LAWRENCE E. MERRILL
