ORDERED,
THAT the attached report of the City Engineer relative to
the laying out of Westland Avenue, Texas Avenue, Maine Avenue,
and a portion of Hammond Street within the boundaries of Bangor
International Airport be and hereby is accepted, and, be it
further
ORDERED, that said streets be accepted as public ways and
added to the official map.

the City Engineer gave written notice by notices attached to copies a said order posted for Bevan
lova prior to the _._ 15th day.. of September 1969F_ ... ........_..
in two public places in the City of Serve and in the vicinity a said street, to wit:
One on Bulletin Board at City Hall
One on Illinois Ave. near Westland Ave.
One on Maine Ave. near Hammond St.
and also gave notice by causing the same W be published in the BArvsoa DAILY News, xaAi rabn

Sept., 1969,copy of said order and notices, so posted and published, is hereto annexed and
made part of thio report.
And that the said City Engineer met at thetime and place of meeting specified in the notices
and proceeded to lay out. said streets as follows:

Beginning at a point on the southeasterly line of Westland
Avenue at the intersection of the easterly boundary line of
Bangor International Airport, said point of intersection being
84.01 feet, South 38" 48' 14" East from Monument #64;
thence South 34" 18' 12" West 1691.25 feet along a line
generally parallel to and approximately 40 feet southeast from
the centerline of the existing roadway known as Illinois Avenue;
thence along a curve to the left, said curve having a radius
of 340 feet, for a distance of 259.17 Feet;
thence South 091 22' 18" East for a distance of 570.62 feet
to a point approximately 40 feet north from the centerline of
pavement of a street known as Texas Avenue. The above-described
street has been laid out 80 feet wide measuring west from the
above-described line and encompasses the existing street known
as Illinois Avenue. It is recommended that the name of said
street be changed to Westland Avenue.
And the City Engineer proceeded to lay out a right-of-way
for a portion of the street known as Texas Avenue as follows:
Beginning at a point at the southerly terminus of the
easterly line of Westland Avenue, formerly Illinois Avenue, as
described above;
thence South 80° 20' 17" West for a distance of 802.06 feet
on a line parallel to and approximately 40 feet east from the
centerline of the existing pavement of Texas Avenue, to a point
located approximately 40 feet east from the centerline of pave-
ment of a street known as Maine Avenue. The above-described
right-of-way has been laid out 80 feet wide measuring south
from the above-described line, and encompasses a portion of a
existing street known as Texas Avenue. it isended that
the above-described street be known as Texas Avenue.
And the City Engineer proceeded to lay out Maine Avenue as
follows:
Beginning at the westerly terminus of the northerly right-
of-way line of Texas Avenue as described above;
thence South 090 45' 23" East along a line generally parallel
to and 40 feet east from the centerline of pavement of an existing
street known as Maine Avenue for a distance of 2266.75 feet to the

former northerly right -c£ -way line of Hammond Street. The
above-described right-of-way has been laid out 80 feet wide
measuring west from the above-described line, and encompasses
an existing street known as Maine Avenue. It is recommended
that the above-described right -o£ -way be known as Maine Avenue.
And the City Engineer proceeded to reestablish the former
right-of-way of Hammond Street from Maine Avenue to the easterly
boundary of Bangor International Airport as follows:
Beginning at the southerly terminus of the westerly right-
of-way line of Maine Avenue as above described;
thence North 81" 06` 05" East for a distance of 608.12 feet
to Monument #44;
thence South 141 58` 32" West for a distance of 68.05 feet
to Monument #43;
thence South B1" 06` 05" West on a line parallel to and
66 feet south from the first described line for a distance of
approximately 595 feet to the westerly line of Maine Avenue
extended;
thence North along said westerly line of Maine Avenue extended
for a distance of 66 feet more or less to the point of beginning.
The above-described right-of-way encompasses a portion of the
former right-of-way of Hammond Street which had been previously
discontinued. It is recommended that said right -o£ -way be known
as Summand Street.
All of the above-described rights -o£ -way are within the hounds
Of Bangor International Airport, formerly Dow Air Force Base,
transferred to the City of Bangor under the National Airports Act,
s recorded in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds, Volume 2156, Page
449.
No person or persons appeared at the time and place set for
the hearing. Since the roads have been constructed and used for
any years in their present locations, To damages are recommended
for the above-described laying out. It isrecommended that the
above-described rights-of-way be added to the official map to be
named and known as noted above, and accepted as public ways. A
plan of said laying out, Plan No. R-854, is on file in the office
of the City Engineer.
