Bangor International Airport To the Bangor Water District WHEREAS, the Bangor Water District was created by the Maine State Legislature to supply the inhabitants of the District with pure r for fire prevention and protection purposes, and also for domestic, sanitary, commercial, industrial and other lawful purposes; and WlBID64g, the City of Bangor has in the past conveyed all of Its interest i the water distribution and transmission systems about the City to the District to control, manage and operate, to extend, increase, enlarge and improve said systems and generally to provide a water system for proper purposes for the health, comfort and convenience for theinhabitants of said District; and WHEREAS, the City of Bangor has acquired from the Federal Government by Quit- claim deed,rrsLan and other m , title to the water distribution and transmission systems at Bangor International Airport; and . WHEREAS, the District is willing to accept all of the w supply facilities in said distribution and transmission systems now in existence at Bangot Inter- national Airport and thereafter to maintain the water supply facilities in said distribution and transmission systems and serve users located thereon in accordance with District Rules and Regulations; NOW, THEREFORE, By the City Council of the City of Bangor, ORDERED: That the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to convey by Quit- claim deed, a copy of which 1s attached hereto, all of the wa ter distribution and transmission systems at Bangor International Airport to the Bangor Water District. As Mended, PASSED. ui�.r',s;m KNOW ALL .NEN BY THESE PRESENTS, THAT The CITY 0P BANGOR, a body politic and corporate, Iagated at Bangor in the Cowry of Penobscot and Slain of Ma foe, in consideration of one dollar and other valuable considerations call, by the BANGOR WATER DISTRICT, a body politic and corporate, located at Bangar in the County of Penobscot and State of Maine, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does hereby remise, release, bargain, sell and convey and forever quit -c Laim, under and subject to the reservations, restrictions, and conditions, all as hereinafter expressed and se[nonto it,, BANGOR WATER DISTRICT, its successors and assigns forever, all its right, title and interest to and to the water distribution and transmissionsystems located at Bangor International Airport, formerly known as Dow Air Force Base, situate, lying and being at Bangor In the County of Penobscot and State of Maine and more particularly described as follows, to wit: 1. All existing water distribution and transmission systems, including but not limited to water lines, hydrants, gate valves and flush hydrants orn ntly located i r about the premises owned by the City of Bangor and W commonly known as BangorInternational Airport; said watert distribution and transmission syst s being further described o aplan datzd ]:muary 5,01960 and entitled "Water Supply System, Dow Air Force Base" on file in the City Engineer's Office. 2. The water pumping station, together with the right of r aile events eC thereto, located on Illinois Avenue, Bangor, Maine, n a lot described as follows: Beginning at a point on the easterly right-of-way line of Westland Avenue, formerly a portion of Illinois Avenue, as laid car and accepted by City Council Order 9}%, passed February 23, 1970, and recorded in Penobscot Registry of Deeds, Volume 2179, Page 200, said point located 657.00 feet Orth from the northerly right-of-way line of Texas Avenue, as laid out and accepted by the above- mentioned Council order, thence east at right angles t r said easterly line of Westland Avenue for a distance of 30.00 feet; thence north at right angles to the last -described line lot a distance of 55.00 feet; thence west at Tight angles to the last -described line for a distance of 30.00 feet to the easterly line of Westland Avenue; thence south along the easterly line of Westland Avenue 55.00 feet to the point of beginning. Excepting and reserving to the City of Bangor all land areas n or on which said water distribution and transmission systems,the water pumping s or the v standpipe may lie and which are no specifically conveyed herein• TO NAVE AND TO HOLD together with all privileges and appurtenances [hereunto belonging to said BANGOR WATER DISTRICT, its successors and assigns forever.
