Ba it ordained by the qty Counal of the City ofNangoi, as follows: That Chapter IT, Article 14, Sections 13 through L5 be amended as follows: Sec. 13 Retirement. All firemen and policemen who a members of the State Retirementm Syst shall be entitled to a retirement benefit, as provided in Title 5, Maine Revised Statutes Annotated, Section 1092, Sub -section 3, as amended, after having completed twenty (20) years service with the Bangor Fire Department or the Bangor Police Department. Sec. 14 Service Beyond Twenty (20) years. Retirement after twenty (20) years of service, as provided in Chapter FI, Article 14, Section 13, shelf net be mandatary for all firemen and all policemen who are members of the State of Maine Retirement System. All firemenand all policeman desiring to continue employment beyond twenty (20) yea of a•rvice shall fila written application for extension of employment with the City personnel Director six months before completion of said twenty (20) years. Sec. 15 Service Review Committee. There shall be established a Service Review Committee, hereinafter referred to as the "Committee", created for the purpose of recommending to the City Manager actionto be taken a applications by Fix and Policemen desiring to extend their terms of service beyond twenty (20) years. 15.1 Membership. The Committee shall consist of five (5) members, four (4) of which shall be appointed by the City Council. It shall be the function of the Committee to hold meetings when required and to advise the City Manager with respect to applications by members of the Fire Department o the Police Department desiring to extend their terms of service beyond twenty (20) years. 15.3 Vacancies.
