— That Chapter II, Article 31, Section 3 be amended as follows:
Sec. 3 "Qualifications for Firemen and Policemen. An applicant for the
appointment of policeman
or fireman moat be a citizen of the United States of good moral
character. Such applicant Shell have an education at least
equivalent to that of a high school graduate, and shall, upon
request of the Civil Service Commission, mace and pass such
physical examination as shall satisfy said Commission of the
ability of the applicant physically to perform the duties re-
quired of a Policeman or Fireman. Upon the appointment of any
applic the poli[ r fire department n already having a
domicile within the City of Bangor,such ap2licant shall within
six months thereafter establish his domicile within the City of
Bangor, or within a lineal distance of six eight miles of the
Central Fire Station in the City of Bangor. Said domicillary
requirements may be extended for a period not exceeding six
months by the Chief of either department upon approval of the
City Manager and the Civil Service Commission."
