RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE
PROVIDING ASSURANCES PURSUANT TO
UNIFORM RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AND REAL PROPERTY
ACQUISITION POLICIES ACT OF 1970

establishes uniform policies for the fair and equitable treahuent of persona
displaced as a resalt of Federal and federally assisted programs, as well
as U^sforn policies on real property acquisition practices with respect to
such prograde; and
WHEPERS, the Act has application to progrees and projects recadvdng

financisistescs under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended,
and
WHEREAS, the (LPA) has made application far didenci,I asai,tabod under
Title I of the Housing Act of 1949 for a Code Enforcement project or program
designated as follows: ME -E-5
and
WHEREAS, the activities for which such assistance is sought will involve
displacement and/or land acquisition occurring after January 2, InU, the
effective data of the Act; and
WIERB.AS, Sections 210 and 305 of the Act require the provision of
Oertsin assurances before the head of a Federal agency can approve any, grant
t0, or contract or agreweat with, a State agency, under which Federal
financial assistance will be available to pay all or part of the cost of any
Program or project which will result in displacement or real property acquleition
subject to the regairvnents of the Act.
NWP, TIETTIVRE, be it resolved by the governing body of the (LPA):
That the United States of America and the Secretary of HouGing and Urban
Development be, and they hereby are, provided through the adoption of this
resolution, with the fallwing assurances regarding conduct by the (LPA)
Of the Project or program far which Federal financial assistance under
Title I of the Awsing Act of 1949 is sought.
I. Fair and reasonable relocation paymenta and assistance shall be
provided to or for displaced persona, as are required to be
Provided by a Federal agency under sections 202
the Act; , 203, add 204 of
2. relocation assistance pEdgmsse offering the services described
in section 205 of the Act abell be provided to such displaced
persona;
3. within a reasonable period of time prior to displacement, decent,
safe, God samitary replacement dwellings will be availabletr
displaced persons in accordance with section 205(c)(3) of the Act;

4. in acquiring real property it will be guided, to the greatest
extent practicable under State lav, by the land acquisition
policies in section 301 end the provisions of section 302 of
the Act; and
5. property owners will be paid or reimbursed for necessary expenses
as specified in sections. 303 and 304 of the Act; and
6. costs of providing payments and assistance will be shared by the
City of Bangor in the manner and to the extent required by
Sections 2I1(a) and (b) of the Act.
