These changes were approved by the Commission on Cultural Development in 2021 and approved by the Business and Economic Development Committee on February 8, 2022. Committee Action Committee: Business and Economic Development Action: Recommended for passage Staff Comments & Approvals City Manager Introduced for: First Reading Meeting Date: February 8, 2022 For: 4 City Solicitor Against: 0 Finance Director 22-094 02/14/2022 CITY COUNCIL ORDINANCE Date: February 14, 2022 Assigned to Councilor: Hawes ORDINANCE, Amending Chapter 23, Boards, Committees and Commissions, of the Code of the City of Bangor, By Making Updates to Article III, Commission on Cultural Development WHEREAS, the Commission on Cultural Development feels it prudent to clarify several details in the ordinance relating to commission membership, individual artists, and subcommittees, among other minor details; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR AS FOLLOWS, THAT Chapter 23 of the Code of the City of Bangor be amended as follows: § 23-13 Establishment; membership. There is hereby established a Commission on Cultural Development for the City of Bangor which shall consist of 11 members who shall be appointed by the City Council and a member of the City Council to be appointed by the Council Chair. § 23-19 Authority. The Commission is hereby authorized to: E. Review grant applications from arts and cultural organizations and individual artists and recommend a course of action to the City Council for its review and consideration; G. Provide forums for the public and citizens' groups to share their ideas, recommendations, and concerns with the Commission as need arises; § 23-20 Meetings; annual report; quorum. A.
