Councilman A CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE Engineering Department December 7, 1971 TO: The Municipal Officers Pursuant to City Council Order 254-Y, passed July 26, 1971, directing the City Engineer to construct an extension of the sewer on Pierce Street to serve a portion of Union Street, the following report is submitted: The installation consisted of 152 feet of 10 -inch Class 3300 asbestos -cement pipe and 112 feet of 8 -inch Class 2400 asbestos -cement pipe, with two manholes. The actual cost of the installation was $3423.90. Of this amount, $1451.00 is attributed to the installation of the 8 -inch pipe, and the remaining portion represents the cost of the installation of the 10 -inch pipe from Pierce Street, which was considered to be a trunk line and non - assessable. Seventy-five percent of the cost of the 8 -inch sewer may be assessed against the property benefited, making a total assess- ment of $1088.25 against the property owned by Mr. Jusdon M. Grant, Jr., the original petitioner for the sewer extension. It is recommended that the a ent be levied. A plan Show- ing the sewer installation is attached..
