To: The Municipal Officers
Reference is made to City Council order 34-Z, passed November
22, 1971, directing the City Engineer to conduct the necessary
surveys and prepare plans and cost estimates for the extension of
Hildreth Street North for a distance of approximately 1000 feet,
together with a list of possible assessments. The plans and cost
estimates have been completed and thefollowing report is Sub-
mitted:
The proposed roadway extension would have anactual length
of 1200 feet and would consist of a 24 -foot wide travel way with
8 -foot wide gravel shoulders. The installation would also include
the replacement of approximately 90 feet of 13 -inch culvert with
new 18 -inch ACCMP, and the encasement of approximately 80 feet
of the 6 -inch Searspoit to Limestone fuel pipeline which passes
under the roadway location.
The total estimated cost of this work is $27,150, of which
the City would pay 50s, or $13,575. It is proposed that the re-
mit amount be assessed equally among the three adjacent
properties which benefit, as follows:
Property Owner Proposed Assessment
Pine Tree Realty $4525.00
Chamber of Commerce 4525.00
Edward J. Hughes 4525.00
Total $13,575.00
Since the Hughes property and the Pine Tree Realty property
e presently undeveloped, and since the development is not anti-
cipated in the near
r future, it is proposed that these assessments
be deferred until such time as the property is developed, provided
suitable recordable instrument is received. Since the develop-
ment of the Chamber of Commerce property is expected to start with-
in the near future, it is proposed that the asment on that
property be levied as soon as the final costs are
