T0: The Municipal Officers
Reference is made to the petition received from Dr. Michael
Longo dated September 5, 1972, attached, requesting the extension
of Longrale Park. Surveys, plans and cost estimates have been
completed, and the following information is submitted: the road
would be extended approximately 200 feet with a 100 foot diameter
turnaround at the end. The roadway would be constructed to a width
of 28 feet, and would consist of 2" of Bituminous Concrete on 18"
of gravel. The existing sidewalk on the northeast side would be
extended to the turnaround.
The total estimated cost of the roadway construction is $10,230.
Ina ordance with the subdivision ordinances, the City share would
be $6.25 per foot, and since the total centerline length of the
road is 400 feet, the City's share would be $2,500.00. The remaining
$7,730.00 would be assessed against the adjacent property owners,
being the LOngrale Apartments.
It is recommended that the roadway extension be constructed
as soon as possible, and that it be accepted as a public way.
