Introduced and Hled by 7k.,„., e. nee.✓ao-, Coun, c'Iman Engineering Department TO: Municipal Officers August 24, 1972 In accordance with City Council Order 194Z, passed May 22, 1992, directing the City Engineer to prepare plans and cost estimates for the construction of Eaton Place to standards necessary to permit the acceptance of said Eaton Place as a public way, the following report is submitted: The new roadway would be constructed to a width of 12 feet, generally following the existing roadway between Fourth Street and Fifth Street for a distance of approximately 400 feet. The new road would have a 2-1/2" bituminous concrete surface on an 18" some and gravel base. A right-of-way would be established to accommodate the new roadway, having a width of approximately 19 feet. The total estimated cost of construction is $4800.00. It is proposed that said construction be included as a part of the West Side Area Improvement Project, thereby, being eligible for 75% Federal funding, with a local share being $1150.00. Of this amount, 1/3 or $383 may be assessed against the properties benefited. Although the majority of the property owners re not willing to pay an assessment, Mr. Vincent P. O'Leary, 21 Eaton Place, has agreed to pay the entire private share. Itis recommended that Eaton Place be constructed as described above, provided that funding is available as a part of the West Side Area Improvement Program, and it is further recommended that action be taken to accept Eaton Place as a public way upon completion of construction. A plan of the proposed construction is attached. Respectfully submitted, john I.Frawley City Engineer ncl lh E:l ncl:l
