Committee to„A9sist City Caunci1 in By the City Coumoid of the City of Bemoan ORDERED, THAT WHEREAS, there is a great need for communication between a government and its citizens; and WHERFIS, there is a need by the city government for the suggestions and ideas of diverse and interested citizens; and WHEREAS, there has been some difficulty in securing nominations for the approximately 130 advisory positions appointed by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee is the most broadly representative appointive advisory committee, NOW THEREFORE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY UP BANGOR BE IT ORDERED: THAT on or before November 15, 1971, the City Council shell submit to the Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Commf dee, a list of all vacant positions as of January 1, L972 in the following Boards and Committees: Loving Board of Appeals Dental Health Advisory Committee Fine Arta Advisory Committee Hersey Fund Trustees Housing Authority Ebstein Student Loan Fund Trustees Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Recreation Center District Trustees Urban Renewal Authority Commissioners Civil Service Commission Economic Development nAdvisory Committee Health and Hospital Advisory Committee Housing Appeals Board Investment Advisory Committee Library Board Planning Board Service Review Committee Water District Trustees ORDERED that the Citizens Advisory Committee shall seek from the citizens of the City of Bangor those persons who would be interested in serving in one or more such positions{ and BE IT FURTHER COMM that on or before December 13, 1971 the Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee shall submit to the City Council a List, including names, addresses and other pertinent information, of such interested persons. STATEMENT OF FACT: Every year the City Council must fill several appointive positions on us City committees and boards. The purpose of this order is to obtain from the Citizens Advisory Committee assistance in seeking persona from the general public who would be interested in serving o such boards and Committees. It is hoped that the Council will give all persons submitted by the Citizens Advisory Committee due consideration. However, it to not the purpose of this order to restrict ict Council appointments to the nam submitted by the Committee.Citizens Advisory Committee.
