THAT WHEREAS, the Kenduskeag Stream Urban Renewal Plan proposes number of street improvements and alterations within the project area. and WHEREAS, the improvements and alterations include the exist- ing public ways lying north of the northerly line of Water Street to the easterly line of Main Street, including a Portion of Haymarket Square, Broad Street, West Market Place, and Bangor Alley, now therefore, be it ORDERED, that the City Engineer, acting for and on behalf of the municipal officers according to law be and hereby is directed to layout the alteration of Broad Street, Haymarket Square, West Market Place, and Bangor Alley, generally described as follows: 1. The discontinuance of that portion of Broad Street lying between the northecV line of Water Street and the southerly line of West Market Place, as laid out and accepted asa public way on May 23, 1835, as recorded in City of Bangor Sued Book, Volume 1, Page ]. 2. The alteration of the southerly line of West Market Place as laid out and established on October 10, 1835, as recorded in City of Bangor Road Book, Volume 1, Page 33. 3. T e establishment of a new right -o£ -way for Broad Street extending northerly from the northerly line of Water Street to the southerly line of west market Place, generally following the right -o£ -way formerly known as Wall Street as laid out and es- tablished on June 6, 1835, as recorded in City of Bangor Road Book, Volume 1, Page 1. 2 4. The widening of Bangor Alley between the westerly line of Renduskeag Plaza and the easterly line of West Market Place, the widening to be in a southerly direction to a width of forty (40) feet, and, be it further ORDERED, that the City Engineer proceed to give written notice of such intention of said municipal officers by posting notices for J days in two public places in the City of Bangor and in the vicinity of the proposed laying out and the City Engineer is further ORDERED, to make a written return of said proceedings together with the hounds and ad -measurements of the right-of-way with a list of damages allowed to each person for any land taken or for any benefits resulting to the property owners as a result of the laying out, all in accordance with the Laws of the State of Maine. �t?-=1 VED 1971 :407 -4 AN 11: 31 CITY CI ERK S OFFICE -,•v ne 1ASS0P,.
