ORDERED,
THAT the attached report of the City Engineer relative to the laying out
of an extension of Gooses Road from its present terminus 900 feet south of
Perry Road for a distrance of approximately 1, 025 feet to the northerly line of
land owned by Edward B. Murray, be and hereby 1s accepted:
FURTHER ORDERED
THAT said roadway extension be accepted as a public way and be
added to the Official Map, to be named and known as Godsoe Road.

the City Engineer gave written notice by notices attached to copies of said order period for seven
days prior to lhe.. 27th. of December., 1&72 I ......
in two public places in the City of Bangor and in the vicinity of said street, to wit:
One on the bulletin board at City Hall
One at the corner of Webster Avenue and Perry Road
One at the corner of Perry Road and Godson Road
and also gave notice by causing the came to be published in the BANGOR Dag.v News, newspaper
printed to paid any, for one week Wier to the 27th tif Dgc, 1972 _....copy of aided order and
notices, so posted and published u hereto annexed and mile pat of this report.
And that the said City Engineer met at the time and piece of meeting specified in fee notice
and proceeded to lay, out said Codeine Road extension as follows:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Godsoe Road at the southerly
terminus of said road as laid out by Council Order No. 218-R passed November
9, 1964, said point being 423.80 feet south from the intersection of said
center line with the southerly right-of-way line of Perry Road; thence contin-
uing IS a southerly direction along a projection of said oenter line for a distance
of 226,50 feet; thence in a westerly direction at right angles to the last -described
line for a distance of 350.00 feet; thence in a southerly direction at right
angles Be the last -described line for a distance of 503.39 feet to the northerly
line of land owned by Edward B . , Robert J., and John L. Murray. Said roadway
has been laid out to a width of 75 feet, measuring at right angles on either side
of the above-described center line. Said roadway lies entirely within the bounds
of land owned by the Katandin Council Incorporated, Boy Scouts of America,
as described in Penobscot County Registry of Deeds, Volume 1189, Page 329,
and the total area required for said laying out contains 1.86 acres.
GRADE
AND, the City Engineer proceeded to lay out a grade for said roadway as follows:
Beginning at the southerly terminus of the existing roadway at the existing
ground elevation, said elevation being approximately 117.9 feet; thence ascending
for a distance of 76.2 fest on a grade of 1.75% to elevation 119.22; thence con-
tinuing to ascend along a 400 foot vertical curve havinc an external of 0.58 feet
to elevation 123.92; thence continuing to ascend along the tangent to said curve
for a distance of 200 feet on a grade of 0.60% to elevation 125.12; thence de-
scending on a 300 foot vertical curve having an external of 0.98 feet to elevation
123.17; thence continuing to descend along the tangent to said curve on a grade
of - 1.90% for a distance of approximately 52 feet to elevation 122.26.
No person or persons appeared at the time and place set for the hearing.
It is recommended that damages in the amount of $930.30 be paid for the right-
of-way acquisition, totaling 1.86 acres. It is further recommended that the
above-described roadway be laid out and accepted as a public way, tote named
and known as Godsoe Road. A plan of the proposed laying out, entitled "Right -
of -Way Plan and Profile Godsoe Road," Plan No. R-863, dated March 8, 1973
Is on file in the office of the CUty Engineer.
