Councilman AIRPORT ACCOUITPNT 1�3 An employee in this class keeps Airport accounts in which the transactions re- quire the a o of considerable judgment in determining the method Of disposition. Work Is carried on within the limits of an established accounting unting system and with- out immediate supervision, and the employee is responsible for the independent application to a wide variety of detail and employees of his class may serve as the final check on numerous financial transactions. Work may include the supervision of subordinate employees. ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK Maintains c records of the c of various Airport and work construction projects by distributing labor, equipment and material chats to proper accounts. Prepares complex payrolls, involving numbers of personnel working varied hours at different rates and properly distributes the time Of said personnel to the proper work items within each Airport project involved. Keeps additional detailed payroll material as may be required by specific State and Federal requirements for reimbursement, am accordingly, shall be familiar with the regulations of said out side agencies pertaining to specific projects. Prepares budget estimates relative to revenue and expenditures and reviews proposed budget with the Airport Manager prior to presentation to the City Manager. Reviews all field purchase orders prior to purchases to insure control and proper application of accounting data. Prepares and initiates acquisition$ relative to equipment, parte and supplies for the Airport Department. Preparesand submits monthly billings to all concessionaires, rental agencies and domestc and internatonal carriers that utilizethefacilities at Bangor Internation- al Airport. Receives cash payments and prepares the necessary receipt forms ah that payments may be deposited with the City Treasurer Prepares letter of notice to delinquent tenants to insure minimal accounts re- ceivable in the Airport Department, Reviews and analyze monthly data pro iag print-out sheets. Review all Sea aBangor International Airport for terms, renewals and other important information needed in daily work of the Airporn Accountant. Performs daily accounting procedures such as processing of inter -office transfer vouchers, posting of expenditures, payroll distribution, field purchase orders and general correspondence. Performs related work as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of the principles of accounting. Considerable knowledge of office methods and procedures and the use of standard office equipment. Ability to prepare accurate and complete financial reports from accounting data. Must be familiar with contracts end leases. Ability to carry out general oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees, as well as the general public. DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduation Exon a standard high school, supplemented by college level courses in accounting and business administration. Experience in financial or accounting operations. - General knowledge of airport operations exceptionally useful.
