CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE
Engineering Department
TO THE MNICIPAL OFFICERS: November 19, 1973
In accordance with City Council Order 295-2 passed September 25,
1972, which authorized the extension of Longrale Park, the follow-
ing report is submitted:
The work has been completed, consisting of the extension of the
existing roadway for a distance of approximately 230 feet in a
southwesterly direction from its present terminus. The roadway
extension was constructed to a width of 28 feet, consisting of a
2 inch bituminous concrete surface on
,n 18 inch gravel base. A
cul-de-sac, having a radius of 40 feet,w, constructed at the
southwesterly end. .The existing sidewalkonthe northeast side
was extended to the cul-de-sac.
The total actual cost of the roadway extension was $8,283. In accord-
ance with the Subdivision Ordinance, the City share would be $6.25
per foot, and since the total center line length of the road is 400
feet, the City's share would be $2,500. The remaining amount to be
assessed against the Longrale Apartments is $5,783.
It is recommended that the assessments be levied as noted above,
since the road has been accepted as a public way by Council Order
No. 179 -AA, passed June 25, 1973.
A plan of the roadway extension is on file in the office of the City
Engineer.
Respectfully submitted,
