TO THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS: November 19, 1973
In accordance with City Council Order No. 150 -AA passed May 30, 1973,
authorizing the installation of an extension t6 the Hildreth Street
West Sewer, the following report is submitted:
The installation consisted of 320 feet of 8" Class 2400 asbestos
cement pipe and onmanhole, extending in an easterly direction
from a manhole on the Hildreth Street West Sewer located on the
west side of the Maine Central Railroad tracks. The n
serves approximately 17 a owned by Mr. Sidney Epstein sewer
cnof205
Webster Avenue, said land extending between Odlin Road and the Maine
Central Railroad tracks.
The actual cost of the sewer installation w s $4,365, and in accordance
with the previous Council report, Mr. Epstein has requested that the
assessment be deferred on that portion of his property which is Dot
presently developed. The sewer presently serves the recently com-
pleted
-
pleted New England Telephone6 Telegraph Building, which occupies
approximately 5 a out of the total of 17 acres. In a recent
conversation with eMrEpstein, he requested that the assessment on
the remaining undeveloped 12 acres be deferred until development
occurs,, which means that the s assessments would be computed at'.
the rate of 75%. The assessment eon the 5 acres which is presently
developed Would be $962.87, to be levied immediately. The assessment
against the remaining 12 acres to be deferred would be $2,310.88. It
is emended that the assessments be levied and deferred as noted
above.
A plan showing the sewer installation is on file in the office of the
City Engineer.
Respectfully submitted,
Cohn T. Frawley
