IN CITY COUNCIL ecember 10, 1973 Taken from table, hearing Introduced and filed by held, PASSED. o CITY Clog V G \� HOslLllan CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE Engineering Department TO THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS: November 19, 1973 In accordance with City Council Order No. 49-Z passed December 13, 1971, directing that the existing roadway known as Hildreth Street North be extended for a distance of approximately 1,200 feet to serve property now owned by Hewes Body Company, the following report is submitted: The roadway has been extended for a distance of 1,175 feet, c - isting of a 24 foot wide travel -way, having a tar surface, with 12 foot wide gravel shoulders. in addition, the existing 18 inch culvert at the southerly end has been replaced with a new culvert, and the existing 6 inch Searsport-Limestone fuel pipe line has been encased where it crosses the new roadway. The tbtal actual cost of the roadway construction was $27,942, of which 50%, or $13,971 may be assessed against the properties which benefit, as follows: PROPERTY OWNER PROPOSED ASSESSMENT Hewes Body Company $ 4,657.00 Kagen-Lown & Company 4,657.00 Edward C. Hughes 4,657.00 TOTAL: $13,971.00 in accordance with the City Engineer's previous proposal contained in the report attached to City Council Order No. 49-Z, it is recom- ended that the assessments against Kagan Lown Company and against Edward. S. Hughes he deferred until such time as their property i developed, provided that a suitable recordable instrument to that effect is received from them. It is further recommended that the assessment against Hewes Body Company be levied immediately. A plan showing the roadway construction is on file in the office of the City Engineer.
