QIntrooduceddr and filed by /Ur� Cowci>,nan CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE Engineering Department TO THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS: October 23, 1973 Pursuant to City Council Order No. 214 -AA, passed August 13, 1973, directing the City Engineer to make a study of the cost of extending sewer service to 871 Hammond Street, the following report is sub- mitted:the sewer would be extended from the existing Silver Road Sewer, so-called, located south of Hammond Street. The extension would consist of 272 feet of 8" Class 2400 asbestos cement pipe and one manhole, said sewer located near the westerly right-of-way line of the former right-of-way known as Carmen Avenue, and said ewer terminating in the center of the street between 871 and 875 Hammond Street. The total estimated cost of the sewer is $2600 0£ which 50%, or $1300 may be assessed against the property benefited if the assess- ment is paid upon completion of construction. There are three properties which would benefit by the installation of the sewer extension, as follows: Mrs. Joseph F. Mason, 875 Hammond Street Mr. Waldron E. Sawyer, 871 Hammond Street (formerly W. Peter Gotlieb) Mr. Reginald A. Hoy, Lot opposite 875 Hammond Street Based upon 50% assessment, the individual assessments against each lot would be $433 each. All three property owners have been con- tacted n-tacted and have indicated their approval to the 50% assessment upon completion of construction.
