THAT, the attached report of the City Engineer relative to the
proposed line and grade of Saratoga Avenue between M. Hope Avenue
and Hempstead Avenue, and Hempstead Avenue between Saratoga Avenue
and Mt. Hope Avenue be, and hereby is accepted, and be it further
ORDERED, that said streets be accepted as public ways, to be named
and known as Saratoga Avenue and Hempstead Avenue

the City Engineer gave written notice by notices attached W copies of said order postal for seven

in two public places in the City of Bangor and in the vicinity of acid street, W wit:

A PORTION OF SARATOGA AVENUE
Beginning at a point on the northerly right -o£ -way line of Mt. Hope
Avenue located 30 feet west of the westerly property line of land owned
by William and Helen Aamber as described in the deed dated Feb. 19,1970,
and recorded in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds Vol. 2178, Page 773,
said point of beginning being the center line of Saratoga Avenue; thence
Orth 14"-44'-44" west at right angles to the line of Mt. Hope Avenue
for a distance of 140.00 feet; thence deflecting 24"-06'-44" to the left
along a curve having a radius of 561.84 feet for a distance of 236.44
feet to a point; thence continuing on a tangent of said curve for a
distance of 60.00 feet to the northerly terminus of the proposed laying
out. The right-of-way has been laid out 60 feet wide, measuring at
right angles to either sides of the above described center line.
HEMPSTEAD AVENUE
Beginning at a point on the easterly right-of-way line of Saratoga
Avenue as described above, said point located 30 feet south from the
northerly terminus of said Saratoga Avenue; thence south 601-38'-00"
east at right angles to said line of Saratoga Avenue for a distance of
130.00 feet to a point; thence deflecting 241-06'-44" to the left along
curve having a radius of 590.75 feet for a distance of 248.61 feet
toapoint; thence continuing along a tangent to said curve south
751-15'-16" east for a distance of 560.00 feet to a point; thence
deflecting 901 to the right along a curve having a radius of 210.00
feet for a distance of 329.87 feet; thence continuing along a tangent
to said curve
south 14=-44'-44" east for a distance of 70.00 feet to the
northerly right-of-way line of Mt. Hope Avenue. The above described
right -o£ -way has been laid out to a width of 60 feet, measuring at
right angles to the above described center line.
And the City Engineer proceeded to lay out a grade for Saratoga Avenue
as follows, starting at Station 0+0 at the northerly right-of-way line
of Mt. Hope Avenue:

No person or persons appeared at the time and place of the meeting.
Since the rights-of-way have been previously dedicated for street
purposes, no damages are recommended for land acquisition. The
above described streets are being constructed
nstructed under a previous
r
agreement with M. Ernest Caliendo, owner of most of the surrounding
property.
A plan showing the proposed rights-of-way entitled "woodlawn Development,
Bangor -Penobscot County -Maine" dated April 1959 is recorded in the
Penobscot Registry of Deeds, Plan File No. 101.
it is reccemmmled that the above described streets be accepted as
pAbilicways, to be named and known as Saratoga Avenue and Hempstead
Avenue respectfully.
