Frawley City Engineer Gentlemen: In response to your request, we are pleased to submit r proposal for engineering services in connection with the design of a second level for the parking lot on Hammond Street at the corner of Columbia Street. SCOPE OF SERVICES We propose to provide the following services: 1. Review abutter and code requirements and in- corporate them into the design concepts. 2. Prepare preliminary sketch layouts based on the planned layouts provided by the City. 3. Prepare preliminary structural design. 4. Prepare an estimate of construction cost. 5. Indicate the locations and depths of any additional boring necessary for final design. 6. Prepare a letter presenting the preliminary design and cost estimate. 7. Provide advice during final design by the City of Bangor. New Ywk PNO Alto Lnlfeya New Never City of Bangor May 21, 1973 Responsibilities of the City f Bangor It would be the responsibility of the City Of Bangor to accomplish the following at no cost to us: 1. Provide all available information pertaining to this project. 2. Provide access and make all provisions for us to enter Open public and private land as required to complete this project. 3. Designate in writing a person to act as your representative with respect to this work. 4. Furnish all needed topographic, property, boundary, building and right of way surveys. 5. .Obtain necessary borings at the locations and to the depths requested by Metcalf d Eddy. Time for completion The services provided under this proposal would be performed expeditiously. Compensation Our fee for the services provided under this proposal would be on a time -charge plus expense basis, payable monthly as chargee accrue and would be the sum of the following: Salary cost times a multiplier of 2.25. NOrtealary expenses at cost. Salary cost is defined as salary and wages paid to Personnel for time chargeable to the project plus a percentage covering: allowances for sick leave, vacation and holiday pay; taxes and insurance premiums based upon payroll; and medical and retirement benefits. Nonsalary expenses include such typical expenses as cost of: transportation and subsistence; long-distance telephone and telegraph; printing and reproduction; computer time and pro- gramming costa; identifiable supplies; and charges by reviewing authorities. 2. City of Bangor May 21, 1973 3. It is suggested that you budget $1,500 for the Preliminary Design Phase (Items 1-6) of our services under this proposal.
