TO: The Municipal Offices
Reference is made to City Council Order No. 99 -AA, passed March 2E,
1973 directing the City Engineer to make a cost study for the
extension of the existing sewer n Union Street to serve the
property owned by Fredrick N. Bean. Construction plans, and coat
estimates have been completed, which would provide for the follow-
ing installation:
The proposed Sewer Extension would consist of 340 feet of 8 inch
asbestos c e
cement pipe and o manhole, extending in a westerly
direction from the existing manhole located adjacent to the prop-
erty owned by Judson M. Grant, Jr., presently occupied by McDonald's.
The total estimated cost of the a extension is Three Thousand
Two Hundred Dollars ($3,200.), of which 75% or Two Thousand Four
Hundred Dollars ($2,400.) would be assessed against the properties
benefited. Since the sewer extension would case 150 feet of front-
age owned by Mr. Grant, which is presently undeveloped, and since
the sewer will serve 150 feet owned by Frederick N. Bean, it is
proposed that the assessment
be divided equally between Mr. Bean
and Nr. Grant, making anassessment of One Thousand Two Hundred
Dollars ($1,200.) against each property. Both Mr. Bean and Mr.
Grant have been advised of the estimated assessment, and both are
in favor of the sewer installation.
It is
recommended that the sewer be installed a soon as possible.
A plan of the proposed installation is attached•
