(TITLE) Mrl}Ero Accepting City. Engineers Report - Root. street Construction

ORDERED,
THAT the attached report of the City Engineer relative to the
estimated cost and possible assessments for the construction of the
Root Street roadway and sanitary sewer between 14th Street and
15th Street be and hereby is accepted, and be it. further
ORDERED that said construction start as soon as possible and be
it further
ORDERED that the sum of $12,300 be transferred from the Reserve for
Future Construction, General, Account 92 2235, for the road con-
struction; and $5,100 be transferred from the Reserve for Future
Construction, Sewer, Account 92 2236, to cover the cost of the
sewer construction.

TO THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS:
Pursuant to City Council Order 157-Ae passed May 13, 1904, directing the
City Engineer to make a cost study for the construction of Root Street,
the following report is submitted:
The street would be constructed within the dedicated right-of-way which
exists between 14th Street and 15th Street, a distance of 500 feet. The
street would have a 30 foot wide travel way, consisting of a 3" tar sur-
face on an 18" gravel base, A 6' wide sidewalk would be constructed on
the north side, and the remaining areas of the tight -of -way would be
loomed and seeded. Asphalt curbing would be provided at the corners of
14th Street and 15th Street.
The total estimated coat of the road construction is $12,300. In accord-
ance the City Ordinance, the City would contribute $6.25 per foot of
street, or $3,125, the remaining $9,175 would be assessed proportionately
against the property benefited, as follows:

-In conjuction with the roadway construction, 375 feet of 8" asbestos cement
sanitary sewer line would be installed, extending west from the existing
sewer on 14th Street. The total estimated cost of the sewer construction
is $5,060, of which the City would pay 50L', or $2,530, and the remaining
amount would he assessed proportionately, as follows:

It should be noted that none of the land owned by those opposed is presently
developed;�accordingly, it is recommended that the assessments against
those properties be deferred until such time as the properties are developed,
with the understanding that the deferred sewer assessments would be increased
to 75%.
It is recommended that the street and sanitary sewer be constructed as out-
lined above and as shown on the attached plan.
