ORDERED, THAT WHEREAS, the development of Bangor International Airport has played a very significant part in the economy and prosperity of the City of Bangor throughout the years, first as a' private airport known as Godfrey Field, then - as.a military bomber and fighter aircraft base during World War II, And later a Strategic Air Command base during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, and finally asa domestic and international airport of growing importance to the City and to the aviation world, and WHEREAS, the development and growth of the airport may never have occurred if not originally founded as,� Godfrey Field by the late Edward R. Godfrey, 1' HOW THEREFORE, be it ORDERED that in tribute. to W. Godfrey's contribution 7� to the development of the airport, the terminal access road leading from union Street to the Domestic Terminal and International Arrivals Building shall be named and known as Godfrey Boulevard, and shall be so designated. on the official City Map.
