Accepting and Appropriating $525,656 for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program 3-Month Grant
Extension.
Summary
This Resolve would accept and appropriate $525,656 in grant funds for the Women, Infants and
Children (WIC) Program. The current funds for the WIC Program are set to expire on September 30,
2021. These funds would extend the program for an additional three months, from October 1, 2021
through December 31, 2021. While the State of Maine is in the process of releasing a new Request
for Proposal (RFP) for the WIC Program, it has amended the City's contract to provide this three
month extension. Once the state has released information regarding the RFP, staff intends to seek
Council Approval to apply for the funding.
