HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-09-13 21-338 ORDINANCE21-338 09/13/2021 CITY COUNCIL ACTION Council Meeting Date: September 13, 2021 Item No: 21-338 Responsible Dept: Planning Action Requested: Ordinance/Map Change Title, Ordinance Map/Lot: R11/12 & 13 Amending Chapter 165, Land Development Code, District Map by Changing the Parcel of Land at Map 11 Lots 12 & 13 from Rural Residential and Agriculture (RR&A) to General Commercial and Service (GC&S) Summary This ordinance amendment would change the zoning on a parcel of land bounded by Broadway and North Bangor Road (Map 11, Lots 12 & 13) from Rural Residential and Agriculture (RR&A) to General Commercial and Service (GC&S) The lot is located on an area that has a mix of heavy industrial uses and residential uses on property close to the Glenburn municipal boundary. The last two comprehensive plans have the area outside the growth boundary, shown as undesignated. This designation was often used on areas that, at the time of the plan, were far outside the core business districts and outside of city infrastructure services. Given there is frontage on North Bangor Road, a commercial development could reduce impacts to residential areas by utilizing this road for access.
