Amending Chapter 165, Land Development Code, District Map by Changing the Parcel of Land addressed at
16 Parker Street from Urban Residence I (URD-1) to Urban Residence 2 (URD-2).
Summary
This ordinance amendment would change the zoning on a parcel of land located at 16 Parker Street from
Urban Residence 1 to Urban Residence 2.
The lot is located in an area that has a mix of large retail (grocery store) and other multifamily and single
family dwellings. The area is walkable to goods and services.
The 2012 comprehensive plan has the lot as single family; across the street is the boundary for the
multifamily designation.
The City Council, in their acceptance of the work of the Affordable Housing Work Group in 2018, seeks to
create housing units where feasible and reasonable.

ORDINANCE, Amending Chapter 165, Land Development Code, District Map by Changing the Parcel of Land
addressed at 16 Parker Street from Urban Residence I (URD-1) to Urban Residence 2 (URD-2).
WHEREAS, at present, the area is a mix of a grocery store and different kinds of residential uses;
WHEREAS, the neighborhood is walkable and accessible to goods and services;
WHEREAS, the City Council strives to create residential uses where feasible and reasonable;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR AS FOLLOWS, THAT
Chapter 165 of the Code of the City of Bangor is amended as follows:
The Zoning District Map is hereby amended by changing the parcel addressed as 16 Parker Street from Urban
Residence I (URD-1) to Urban Residence 2 (URD-2).
