Sawyer, who is the developer of the proposed 194 unit apartment complex, located on a 19.7 acre parcel of land Death of Bangor Gardens, I six writing to you to request that you start the machinery i action to ask the City Council to do a coat study on an exten- sion of SchoolStieet running from the westerly side of Broadway and by the subject property to connect either with the road leading into Hasson College or with Eenduskeag Avenue. As you know, at the meeting of the Planning Board last evening, they recommended that the parcel of land upon which the proposed development is to be built be, changed from a R-1 zone to an R-5 zone and part of the discussion of the viabil- ity of this project depended upon an extension of School Street so that there would be a means of ingress and egress to the subject parcel. As you know, the City has appropriated and has on hand IF the a= of $98,000.00 for this extension resulting from a bond commitment in 1972. The zone change will come up before the Bangor City Council for consideration on its meeting of July 28, 1975 and it would be appreciated if you would have prepared for submission to the Council for its consideration on that date, an order asking for a coat study of the School Street extension so this could go along hand in hand with the proposed development.
