' S8o Electrical Supervisor - Definition This is a supervisory technical position having responsibility for directing the efforts of all employees in the Electrical Division. An employee of this class is responsiblefor supervising the work involver) in the installation, operation, and maintenance of various city electrical systems. Receives instructions verbally, written, and in the form of engineering drawings and specifications. Work is subject to the technical and administrative supervision. Of the Utilities Director. Illustrative Examples of Work Plans, orgganizes, and supervises all phases of the construction and Snstal lation of new traffic signals at an intersection. a Organizes line foremen and linemen into crews for street light y and fire alarm maintenance. d Inspects buildings for proposed wiring modifications, lists materials required, and estimates all costs involved. Checks on the proper progress and quality of work of those reporting to him. Inspects all joha upon completion, y� Makes verbal and written reporta to the Utilities Director. 'F Required %nowledres. Skills. and Abilities' Ttmough knowledge of the materials, methods, tools, and practices ' .3 essential to the construction, maintenance, and repair of Overhead pole lines and underground electrical duct lines. Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards of the lineman's trade and ability to apply all necessary and required safety precautions to protect subordinates. Working knowledge of the principles of electrical theory as - applied to power line circuits, fire alarm circuits, building a2 wiring, traffic signals, and street lights. i Working knowledge of the "National Electric Code" as evidenced by a lq%ster lectrician's" license issued by the State of Maine. Ability to organize and direct subordinates in working groups to achieve maximum efficiency under varying conditions. 1.
