3. ARTober review
Liam- Single major activity the CCD does
Lovern- noted posters did not have dates and were taken down too early some places
Andrea- Work to get posters earlier and assess quantity in relationship to distribution plan
Jane- Main thing is to start earlier
Liam- How do we do a rigorous job when Commission members do not regularly attend meetings
Andrea- happy to do posters again and would like a production calendar for marketing,
felt event was well attended however Jane thought not as well as last year. Allen noted
people stayed longer and had a good time.
Lovern- some people with children left early because of a particular performance that was not
appropriate for children.
Andrea- make it PG-13 to accommodate
Liam- We don’t want to turn away college age arts people
Andrea- we struggled to get the calendar up and it was pretty empty
Liam- There is no common calendar for the arts and culture in Bangor, a longstanding concern. Is
this something the CCD can take on, probably too big a task without more staff support
from the City.
Much work for the kickoff even (catering, programming, securing space, securing sponsorship
fell to Liam and Andrea (design and printing of Artober save the date card and poster.)
Jane- There is no ARTober committee. Should we have one?
Liam- We should review/revise strategic plan after the new year and with our new members.
Issues include: revisit committees and responsibilities, should we scale back? Revisit in
January.
4. Grant Application Update and Process Overview
6 Applicants- Peace and Justice, Penobscot Theatre, Penobscot Contra Dancers, Ten Bucks

Liam it will be a tough choice for how to allocate funds
Jane- Can we give all the $ in the fall

disbursement.
