RBBDLVRD. WHEICAS, the City Council of the City of Bangor abhors and
denounces all formof discrimination and obstruction to the fair and
just treatment of all individuals; and
BECAME, the assembly of the United Nations designated 1975 an International
woman's Year, with the theme of promoting equality, development and
peace; and
WHEREAS, in response to International Women's Year, more than ninety (90)
national w organizations have joined together to formulate an 11
point "U.S. National Worse's Agenda', which is a consensus of priorities
and goals;
RCN, BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT the Bangor City Council, endorses and
pledges to promote the eleven (11) goals set forth in the "U.S. National
Women's Agenda'.
1. Fair Representation and participation in the political
Process: II. Equal Education and Training; III. Meaningful Work and
Adequate Compensation: IV. Equal Access to Economic Poker; V. Quality
Child Care for All Children; VI. Quality Health Care and Services:
VII. Adequate Honing: VIII. Just and Humane Treatment in the Criminal
Justice System: IX. Fair Treatment By and Equal Access to Media and the
Arte: X. Physical Safety: XI. Respect for the Individual.
