ORDERED,
THAT the attached report of the City Sngineer on the laying
out of land for a public way between Hancock Street and 'Washington
Street and containing a anammarlaed report together with recommendations
for damaged to be paid for property on Hancock Street and Washington
Street be hereby accepted and the street established as a public way,
and be 1t further
ORDER®,.that the City Treasurer pay to the property owners the
sums set forth as full and final payment for the land so taken and
any and all buildings thereon.

And that the said City Engineer and at the tune and plate of meeting specified in the actions
and proceeded to IV out Bald public way as follows:
Description of Street Area
Beginning at a point on the northerly side line of Washington
Street, said point being 216.84 feet westerly from a granite
monument set in the ground at the intersection of the northerly
side line of Washington Street and the southerly side line of
Hancock Street measured by and along the northerly side line of
Washington Street; thence northwesterly for a distance of &bat
82 feet to the southwesterly corner of land now owned by Louis
C. and Adelle F. Murray, formerly owned by Hyman Gopin; thence
northerly by and along the westerly side line of land now owned
by Louis C. and Adelle F. Murray to the southerly side line of
Hancock Street; thence easterly along the southerly side line of
Hancook Street for a distance of 65.25 feet to a point; thence
southerly at right angles with Hancock Street for a distance of
60 feet to the dividing line between land of said Murray and
land owned by R. B. Dunning Company; thence easterly along said
dividing line of land of said Murray and said Dunning to the
northerly side line of Washington Street, a distance of 32.75
feet; thence westerly by and along the northerly aide line of
Washington Street for a distance of 114.19 feet and the point
of beginning, the total area being 7,738 square feet of which
3,823 square feet of land only (no buildings) is owned by
R. B. Dunning Company and 3,915 square feet of land with build-
ings thereon is owned by Louis C, and Adella F. Murray.
There appeared at the time and place set for the meeting
the following persona:
Edward Stern, Attorney for Louis C. & Adella F. Murray
William West, Real Estate Agent, representing Louis C. &
Adella F. Murray.
No person or persons appeared to represent the R. A.
Donning Company.
Following a lively discussion as to the values of the Murray
property, both representatives appearing for Louis C. k Adella F.
Murray, agreed to recommend to Mr. Murray that he accept the
City Engineer's recommended payment for damages.
Damages for the property taken are recommended as follows:
For R. B. Dinning Company
Land only (no buildings) level and graded
3,823 square feet @ $1.003,823.00
This amount rounded out at ,000.00
Total damages recommended $4.0000.00
For the Murray Property:
Land 3,91$ square feet
Buildings 211 Hancock Street consisting of
2 story frame house and one shed both 42 yrs.
old. Exterior badly In need of paint.
No screens on windows.
Building at 213 Hancock Street being 2-1/2
story house divided into five apartments,
no garage, building 66 years old, asterior
badly in need of paint. Be screens on windows.
Total damages recommended $1$0000.00
It is recommended that the lend described in the above report
be taken for street purposes and the area established as a Public
way. It is also recommended that the amount set forth for damages
be paid to the property owners for the lend so taken.

Appraisal of Murray Property on Hancock Street
This property consists of two frame structures used for dwelling
purposes and one frame structure used as a storage shed.
The frame structure 211 Hancock Street is a two story frame
building built in 1919. It has two rooms on the first floor
and three roams with bath on the as and floor. The b asement
Is cement concrete with a dirt floor. A furnace has been
installed in this building but belongs to the tenant and not
to the owner. The shed at the rear of this building is in
vary poor condition but, at the present time, Is used by the
owner for the storage for tools and equipment used In the
driveway paving work.
The building 213 Hancock Street is a 2-1/2 story frame structure
built in 1895 and contains five apartments. The basement has a
cement concrete foundation with a cement concrete floor. A coal
fired Steam boiler is installed in the basement end heats three
Of the five apartments. The other two apartments are heated by
stoves.
This building has hard wood floors throughout
and the wells and
ceilings are plastered, with the exception of
some rooms an the
third floor where plaster has broken and been
removed and re-
placed with wallboard. The hard wood floors
are in poor condition
and it is doubtful that they could be sanded
and refinished.
Three methods have been used for arriving at
a valuation for this

Bangor, in accordance with a petition now on file with the municipal officepf
and be it further

officers, proceed to give written notice of said intentions of said municipal
officers by pasting notices for sawn days in two public places in the City of
Bangor and in the vicinity of the proposed way more fully described as follows:
