' cxxY ae ' RECEIVED CITY OF BANGOR CITY CLERK'S OFFICE 976 OCT 7 Ph 4 10 Amending Council Ordinance 400 AD by Substitution as follows: THAT Chapter III, Article 6, Section 2 --Parking Restrictions, be amended by a ding the following sub -section: 2.8 Conti no Parking Prohibited. Notwithstanding the proves ons of t shell be unlawful to park a vehicle on any public way, public parking area o public land for a continuous period exceeding 24 hours. Any officer of the Bangor Police Department is hereby authorized to remove and tow away, or have removed and towed away by any commercial towing service, oy vehicle parked in violation of this sub -section, and to have said vehicle placed in a suitable place, all at the expense of the owner of such vehicle. and be it further ordained, THAT Chapter III Article 6, Section 10 --Waiving Court Hearing for Violation, be amended as follows: 10.2 Any person accused of a violation of this article which prohibits parking in a duly marked or posted no parking area, double parking, parking near a fire hydrant, park- ing on a publvc way ox other public land for a continuous period a eedmg 4 01 ur a so as to interfere with a emova oT i plowing, or parking on a sidewalk or esplanade, may voluntarily waive his or her right to appear and defend before any court or judicial tribunal. the charge made against him or her for such illegal parking by paying to the municipality the a= of ten dollars ($10.00) within five days of the time such alleged offense was committed.
