ORDERED:
TEAT the welfare Guidelines for the City of Bangor be mended as
follows:
(1) Thar the General Assistance Policy, Page 2, 3rd Paragraph, be amended by
adding the following sentence after the first two sentences:
Eligibility for grant of assistance will be redetermined in
accordance with Section (8) of these Guidelines.
(2) Shat the General. Assistance Policy, Page 2, 4th Paragraph be amended by
deleting the last sentence.
(3)That the following existing definition. for the term 'resident" be
deleted and replaced with the following:
Resident. A person who is
voluntarily living in the City
Bea ong r with present intention of maintaining his or her
home
within the c unity on a permanent basis, and not
for temporary purposes.
(4) That Section 0 and Subsection 4, Page 10, be amended by deleting the first
sentence add replacing it with the following:
Tangible Assets: Nc person owning tangible assets other than
toots of trade or ordinary household goods which are
easily
converted into cash including, but not limited to, color televisions,
recreational vehicles, motor cycles, boats, motors, or motor
vehicles within the limitations provided in Subsection A, below
shall be eligible for a Grant of Assistance.
(5) That Article I, Page 3, be mended by adding the following definition and
be cambered accordingly:
Notice: As herein defined unless otherwise stated, Notice $hall

affecting an applicant's benefit request.

(6) That Section C. Subsection 5, Page 9, be mended as follows

(7) That Section C, Page 10, be amended by adding the following Subsection 8.

(8) That Section D, Page 12 be amended by adding the new Subsection. 11 as

may guarantee the current bill to prevent an eviction or a utility
shut-off.
(9) That Section C, emergency assistance, be amended with the following as the
first paragraph of said section.
On occasion emergency circumstances may dictate the grant of Limited
relief to meet i®ediate needs without any delay. An .example of such
relief my be, under appropriate circumstance, food. Insuch-circumstance,
the c worker to authorized to provide such relief in his or her
Gui-right. All other types of Emergency Resistance permitted in these
delines may be provided only with the approval of the welfare Director.

This change increases the figure for the household head
'by $10 and the remaining connote by $5. '
There are a couple of items - Orders Nos. 270 q and 275 AD -
calling for authorization for municipal quitclaim deeds. The purpose of
each proposal is stated in the body of the Order.
