Title, Resolve
Ratifying the City Manager's Actions to Allow Wheatpaste Mural on City Hall Property
This resolve would ratify the actions of the City Manage to allow for a Wheatpaste mural on the
retaining wall of City Hall. For several years, the Downtown Bangor Partnership has worked with
local artists and their beautification committee to place wheatpaste murals around downtown. These
are temporary in nature, and typically have some sort of theme each season. City Hall hosted one in
the past and was approached to host one again this year. Because of the timing of the request and
planned installation, City staff was able to have a committee vote but not a full Council vote,
therefore the City Manager authorized proceeding with the installation based on the vote of the
Business and Economic Development Committee on May 18th. The mural is scheduled to be installed
on May 22nd.
