To secure these effects, toe City has spent and will passions to expend considerable seen a coney, but to preserve these effects will require the cooperation of every lot peace. Anything which weuld mer the general beauty and harmny, of the cemeteries mat be avoided. Peace and good order mat prevail, and the sacredness of the place be maintained at all times. It is to this end that these rules and regulations have been made effective, and the auggeationn as contained herein are offered. Upon having made a lot selection, the Superintendent will issue a lot order to the prospective purchaser, Wno M11 present such order at the office of the City Treasurer in City Hall, where the lot sale will be made excel deed issued. The Cemetery Superintendent or his assistant may act as the agent of the City Treasurer whenever necessary. Upon fell payment of the purchase price of a lot, the City M11 issue a Cemetery deed under its seal, and the deed will be recorded in the records of the City as evidence of ownerehap of the let. The City, however, assumed no obligations for making a satie£actory sale of such lots or portions of lots. Pmere of lots or other interested penance may secure perpetual or endowed care of lots in the older portions of the cemeteries by payment to the City of the perpetual or endowed care charge at the rates Specified herein. Me term "Perpetual or Endowed Care" shall be construed to mean the obligation which the City aseumes to expend each year the net anrnel income on the "Perpetual or Endowed Care" e.u?owment set aside for the lot in furnishing such care for the lot as mowing grass and raking and cleaning lots. It is understood that each expenditures shall be made at the discretion end under the direction of the officer of the City in charge of the C®etexy and that the City shall not be bound to make any separate investment of the she of money Bet aside as the perpetual orendowed care, but hart the same be added to the perpetual or endowed carefund of the City Bud the proceeds therefrom used by the City ina Banner as heretofore provided. The lot owner or federal director shall designate the location of the grave on the lot to the superintendent and any change of location made after the opening of the grave bas begun shall be at the expanse of the lot ower. The Cemetery Superintendent shall be given treaty -four hoard notice in sa®er and thirty-six hoard notioe in ranter (free Nov. 1 -May 1) for the opening and preparation of the grave prior to interment. An additional charge as provided herein shall be made for a service on Sam, Sunday, or legal holidays. Charges made by the City for removal All be made in accordance with the difficulty of the vurk and are payable in advance. Owners or their heirs desiring graves opened shall aecure the eassary disinterment permit from the City Clerk and deliver the care to the Cemetery Superintendent. All remvals will be made by the City order the supervision of a licensed funeral director. For sanitnt, reasons, graves will not be reopened for inspection except for official investigations. Any markers or ornaments designating the location of an interment shall be removed at the time a disinterment is made. All stone and memrmental work shall be subject to the following regulations and requirements: All memorial foundations shall be placed on solid ground not included in actual grave apace except where grave lider is of persanent type and of sufficient strength to support weight of foundation and memorial. Each mmument or grave marker 12^ x 24m or over, or one foot (P) high orv, shall Peet on a rete foundation. For large arbazants, the City reserves the right W require the construction of a foundation of such size and design as will provide ample inearance against possible settlement or injury to the atone work. Stone work or movimental work once placed on its foundation MAI not be removed, ex ent by permission of the Superintendent of the Cemeteries. Markers shall be placed at the head of a grave ea platted. No markers shall be placed nearer than /,-inches to a lot line. No more them ane marker shall be placed at any one grave. No marker shall embrace two or more graves unless Al graves are on the same lot owed by one person. Vaults and meneolerms may be placed only on such lots as may be net aside or designated by the City for such structures. All applica- tions for permits to erect such structures shall be made is writing to the City Manager. No person tall be permitted to trim, pram, or remove branches from any tree or ornamental shrub is the Cemeteries except on his owe lot. All work of promise or trimming trees and shrubs shall be done by the Superintendent or under bis directions. Upon request the Superintendent will do any pruning needed without charge. Permission to plant trees or shrubs on lots shall in all cases be obtained from the Superintendent and the City reserves the right to remove any tree, shrub, or vine, or any part thereof which may Mors become unsightly, dangerous, or not in keeping with the landscape design. Many plants, especially vines, interfere with the proper care of the lots and graves end injure the grass. Saab plants will be removed vhen found interfering with adjacent lots. All floser beds will be cleaned of tender plants after the first front in the fall. Individual lot plantings may not exceed five percent (5%) of the notal lot area and must be placed adjacent to the comment. p q CNA WO AND FI NTS The payment of all fees and charges shall be made at the office of the City Treasurer In the City Nell or to the Cemetery Superintendent, vhere receipts will be issued for all amounts paid.
