May 13, 1974, directing the City Engineer to make a Cost Study for the construction of Dodge Street, the following report is submitted. The street would be constructed to a width of 24 feet, consisting of a 1 1/2 inch bituminous bidder course upon a 6 inch gravel base and a 12 inch gravel subbase. A 6 foot sidewalk would be provided on the northeast side. The Street would have a total length of approximately 522 feet, extending between Fourteenth Street and Fifteenth Street. In addition, 2 catch basins would be installed approximately 160 feet north of Fourteenth Street, with a 10 inch storm sewer connection into the existing storm sewer located on Fourteenth Street. The total estimated cost of the roadway construction is $16,170.00. In accordance with the City ordinance, the City will. contribute $6.25 per foot to the roadway construction .which, for the 522 feet involved, would amount to $3,260.00. shecyptal estimated cost of the storm sewer construction is $60.00, of which the City would pay 50%, or $3,450.00. The sanitary sewer would consist of 395 feet of 8 inch pipe with 2 manholes, extending from the existing sanitary / ewer on. Fourteenth Street, The total estimated coat of the sanitary sewer is $11,100.00, of which the City would pay % 5036, or $5,550.00. The total roadway, storm sewer, and s nitary sewer construction costs are, therefore, $34,170.00, of which $21,910.00 scald be assessed against the actual frontage, as follows: West side Name Frontage Assessment Gilman L. and Shirley S.Nadeau 100 feet $2,191.00* Fowle Brothers Home Building and Remodeling Co., Inc. 300 feet $6,573.00 Nubert R. and Hilda A. Golding 100 feet $2,1#x.00* _2_ East Side Name Frontage Assessment Bruno M. and Ruth C. Grenci - 150 feet $3,286.50* Fowls Brothers Home Building and Remodeling Co., Inc. 275 feet $6,025.25 David M. and Annie M. Cole 75 feet $1,643.25* • Corner lots, fronting on either Fourteenth or Fifteenth Street would not benefit by the street or sewer construction. It should be noted that 425 feet of the frontage rep- resents corner lots which are presently served either by Fourteenth Street or Fifteenth Street, which would receive no additional benefit by the new street and sewer construction. The only property benefitting by the construction would be 575 feet of frontage owned by Fowle Brothers, representing a total assessment of $12,598.25. Therefore, it is recommended that the remaining a ment of $9,311.75 be included in the City's share of the coat, making a total City's share of $21,571.75, it is recommended that the roadway be constructed and the assessments be levied as described above; it is further recommended that the assessments be levied upon completion of construction, a soon as the actual costs are known. A Plan showing the proposed construction accompanies this report. Respectfully submitted, Sohn T.
