Streets - Hillside Subdivision

OFDFFED,
THAT WHEREAS. certain streets were laid out on land located
on the East side of Broadway and North of School Street as shown
on a Subdivision Plan entitled "Plan Showing the Property of
Charles Woodman, George R. Hamlin and Louis Hirstein, Hillside,
Bangor, Maine, Surveyed September 1899 by George H. Hamlin, C.E.,
Resurveyed 1908 by H. E. Mullaney, C.E.", said Plan recorded in
Penobscot Registry of Deeds, Plan Book 9, Page 7, and
WHEREAS, many of the streets in said Subdivision have never
been accepted as public ways, constructed, or maintained by the
City, and
WHEREAS, the actual "subdivision and use of the land in the
vicinity of said streets is materially different from that proposed
by said Subdivision Plan to the extent that the development of
said;streets as originally shown would not be feasible, and would
cause .damage to the land as presently being used,
NOW THEREFORE, be it
ORDERED, that the City Engineer, acting for and on behalf of
the Municipal Officers according to law, proceed to discontinue
all or part of certain streets as shown on said Plan, being the
following:
Evans Street in .its entirety;
Laurel Street in its entirety;
Liberty Street in its entirety;
Hillside Avenue, North of Grandview Avenue;
Prince Street from Laurel Street to Hillside Avenue;
Chapin Street from Laurel Street to Hillside Avenue;
Hobart Street from the centerline of Evans Street to
Hillside Avenue; and be it further

ORDERED, that the City Engineer proceed to give notice of
such intention of said Municipal Officers according to law by
posting such Notices for seven (9) days in two (2) public places
in the City of Bangor and in the vicinity of said right-of-ways,
and the City Engineer is further
ORDERED, to make a written return of said proceedings con-
taining the bounds and admeasurements of said streets to be
discontinued and the damages allowed to say person or persons
as a result of said discontinuance, all in accordance with
Title 23, See. 3029, Maine Revised Statutes Annotated.
