Subject: Exchange Street Parking
Recently there have been suggestions from me rchB anon Exchanbe
Street thatparking be allowed on the street forthe convenienizof
their customers.
.n Arvada s, L975, the Police Department, in conjunction with
the. rudl,c Safety Committee, recommended that parkin£ on Txchange
Strait be ellen d to a oedlte the flow of traffic. and the traveled
way was Minted accordingly and the proper nine infre .ns.nil^d.
Since this time end street has been extremely high in parking
,nmany hundreds of parking tickets have been issued
ionic, whichhas b ought the requests to revise the restriction
and allow: parking on at least one side of the street.
In light of "the present narking tate in the area of York,
Exclwn$e, flak and Hancock Streets .(including one very seldom filled)
it seems that the p[eseat restriction should stand.
I1 the City Council wished to use its perogative and
effect a

mit i suggested that Parking should be permitted on the
erly rater idea the westerly aide, bath for the type of business
loi the , truck traffic at Discount Eartin, pickups a[ the
pa ne- Dace stops to pay light bills, and for used.
to get traffic offState Street onto Exchange Street and toward the
affair urLa durwg rush hours. primarily for this reason the westerly
awe should be left unimpeded if possible.
