CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE
Engineering Department
To the Municipal Officers: September 8, 1977
Reference is made to City Council Order No. 347 AS passed
August 8, 1977, directing the City Engineer to prepare Cost
Estimates and estimated assessments for the installation of
roads and sewers in the so-called College Park Subdivision
on Husson Avenue, as petitioned by the Developer, Mr. Warren
Sawyer. Plana and Cost Estimates have been completed on the
sewers which will serve lots fronting on the existing Husson
Avenue, and at the request of Mr. Sawyer are submitted as follows:
Five hundred seventy-five feet of 8 inch pipe and 2 manholes
would be installed to serve five lots on the south side of Husson
Avenue, commencing at the existing sewer located approximately
1,200 feet east of Eenduskeag Avenue. The total estimated cost
of the sewer installation is $141000.00. Of this amount, the
City would pay 50% and the remaining $7,000.00 would be assessed
against the Developer, Mr. Warren Sawyer.
The installation of an additional 230 feet of 8 inch sewer
and 3 manholes extending north from the existing sanitary sewer
would serve the first 3 lots located on the south side of Musson
Avenue beginning at Eenduskeag Avenue. The total estimated cost
of this sewer is 56,400.00, with the City paying 50% and the
remaining $3,200.00 to be assessed against the Developer, Mr.
Warren Sawyer. -
Since the installation of these sewers would provide a
substantial start in the development of residential house lots
within the Subdivision, it is recommended that they be constructed
as soon as possible. Phone showing the proposed sewer installations
are on file in the office of the City Engineer.
Respectfully submitted,
Sohn T. Frawley,
City Engineer
