S LVM WHEREAS, by passage of City Conseil Resolve 20W on April 23,
1977, the City Conacil indicated its Intent to purse the financial settlement
of the Kenduskeag Stream Urban Reneval Project 8e. R-7; and
WQEREAS, the financial settlement of the Project will irval9e
the City's purchase of Al unsold Urban Renewal parcels and assuming the
responsibilities of the disposition and redevelopment of these. parcels an; part
of the City'6.yuawnity Develolmeat Program; and

it is in the Interest of the City of Danger to promote
the redevelopment of available parcels as soon as possible; and
�, towards this goal it is in the interest of the City of
Bangor to engage the services of an architectural firm to prepare functional
layout plpns, including general site locationj plans indicating pedestrian access
and flow; elevation and sachStectvral character for a shopping/office complex
and off-street parking facilities which available parcels could accommodate to
be used to attract devel epl;F and
WHEREAS, the cost of such architectural services estimated to be
between $51000 - $10,000 will be an eligible Community Develolment Program Cost
at the time the unsold Urban Renewal parcels are purchased with Community Develop-
ment program funds which is now scheduled to occur in July of 1977; and
WRd.'AS;the Bangor Revitalisation Committee of the Cheater of
C®merce has passed a action to request a.c®itmmt free the City of Bangor to
provide Commodity Develoim®t tarda for the generally stated architectural services
at the telae they became available, and
I IdIEPEAS, the architectural selection s bc®ittee of the Bangor
Revitalization Comnittee has interviewed eight architectural firma Mich have
demoastrated interest in performing architectural services for each purposes as
stated and has recommended the selection of the firm of Eaton W. Tarbell & Associates
to perToxm said service¢, concurred in by vote of the Bangor Revitalizatim Committee)
NOW TIIEREPOPE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Bangor that it Intends to commit Commodity Development Program funds at the time
they are available and eligible to depend as a Comnuuity Development Program activity
in an amount not to exceed $10,000 to contract with the firm of Eaton W. T bell
& Associates to perform the ab WE generally stated arehiteeteral services to be
