CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE
Engineering Department
December 7, 1977
To the Municipal Officers:
Reference is made to City Council Order No. 338 AE passed
August 8, 1977 which authorized the installation of a storm
sewer on Blanchard Street, consisting of the following:
The installation consisted of 140 feet of 15 inch ACCP@
extending from an existing catch basin at the northerly terminus
of Blanchard Street to the existing sewer at the intersection of
Knox and Blanchard Street. The purpose of the installation was
to provide greater pipe capacity from the existing catch basin,
necessitated by the increased storm water runoff which will be
created by. the construction of Bradford Commons, Hasson Avenue,
and the d'eve'lopment of the land to the north of Husson Avenue.
The existing outlet pipe is only 8 inches in size.
The actual cost of thestormsewer installation was $1,932.56,
which compares favorably with the redgreal estimate of $2,500.00.
Of this -amount, the City would pay 59 and the remaining $966.29
would be assessed against the Bradford Commons Developer, G A S
Associates. As specified by the original Council Order, however,
the Developer prefunded his estimated share of $1,250.00; there-
fore, he is entitled to a refund of $283.71.
It is recommended that the refund be made as soon as possible:m
A Plan showing the actual sewer installation is on file in
the office of the City Engineer.
Respectfully submitted,
4Twley,
City Engineer
