II of fee Ordinances of the City of Bangor be ameaded as follows: The City Planner ie-te-be-ea-ex-efffefe-member-e£-Me Adr£meg-Cem£ttee and a mrmbet of the City Council, appointed annually by the Chairman of the Council, shall serve as -officio members of the Advisors CovacUtee. and be it further ordained by the City Council of the City of Bangor. THAT Subsection 4.2, Sec. 4, Art. 22, Ch. II of the Ordinances of the City of Bangor be repealed. STMAPENT O PACT: Subsection 4.2, Sec. 4, Art. 22, Ch. II of the Ordinances of the City of Bangor presently provides for the appointment of a number of the City Council to s x -officio member of the Parka and Recreation Advisory Comuittee at thea pal organizational meeting following the regular aunicipal election. Phillips House, 96 Ohio Street, be designated an historic landmark under Chapter VII: Article 4, Section 5.3 of the Ordinance of the City of Danger. This designation has been approved as appropriate by the Director of theMaineHistoric Preservation Commission. It we e wed by the Bangor Commission during a walking tour on December 4, 1977. No objections x raised at a Public Rearing on December 7, 1977, at Much the Commission moved taro emend its designation to the Council. built 'c ca 1851-53, the Phillips House i a handsome large Italianiate residence in admirable state of preservation, which is completely deserving of this designation. After written approval by the Director of the �As F(isSorfcj4ieaer? nation Commsand a walking tour on December 4, 1977, the design- ation of the billion H. Mills Double House, 35-37 Fifth Street, was considered at a Public Hearing by the Historic Preservation Commission, on December 7, 1977. This is a fine Greek Revival house, possibly even alder than the date of 1843 at which it first appears in the records. An Italianate portico of high quality was later added to it. No objections were voiced at the Hearing and the Commission has no heeita- tion inending its designation by the Council under Chapter VII, Article 4,CSection 5.3 of the Ordinances of the City of inner. The Historic Preservation Commission recommends indefinite post- ponement of this designation, and that Council Order 13AP be amended to mit the designation of this structure. The designation of the Thomas Trickey House, 36-38 Division Street,sidered at a Public Hearing n December 7, 1977. During the Commission's walking tour on December 7, objections were voiced to m exterior details inappropriate to the style of the house. These feelings were red at the Public Hearing. Me owner may choose to alter these minor details and has already ex- pressed a interest in working with the Commission. The Commission will be happy to act on a re-application for designation at a later date.
